About
Based on Rick Smith's "End of Killing" book that explored tech based solutions of enforcement without lethal use of force., this short story depicts a sample use case.
Visual Design
The visual narrative uses an old low definition image quality to show current day outcomes. The second half then examines a "What If" future state where killing is avoided through tech.
Result
The final result uses an visual effects to reinforce past versus present in a highly stylized manner using motion tracking, drone footage, particle effects motion graphics.
Motion Design Study
The development of the concept was based on initial sketches that would ultimately help work out the sequencing of the story into two halfs..
Motion Tracked and Particle Effects Composited
Original footage was edited in Adobe Premier for color correction and re-timing. Adobe After Effects was the used for tracking and HUD simulation.
